Another Round 3 Foundation grant recipient is Builders of Hope. Based in Dallas, Texas, Builders of Hope seeks to transform Dallas鈥 urban areas by providing affordable and workforce housing and pre-homebuyer financial coaching. The grant from the Foundation relates to the philanthropic pillars of Economic Mobility and Financial Inclusion.

鈥淭he Hope for Homeownership Center aims to address generational disparities of wealth that exist in black and brown communities through financial coaching and pre-homebuyer education,鈥 said James Armstrong, President and CEO of Builders of Hope. 鈥淗omeownership continues to be a driver of economic mobility and stability in our country, but access to quality affordable housing seems to be out of reach for many low to moderate income earners. In Dallas, the correlation between lack of financial education and wealth garnered and homeownership rates is alarming and speaks to the need of a robust financial counseling and pre-homebuyer education program that specifically targets areas where poverty is prevalent.鈥
